How to get around the desktop & mobile app

Navigating Cubby is simple. This article will explain the few ways to select things, take action on them, and how to save time with keyboard shortcuts.

Selecting posts

From the any post feed, you can click the checkbox (or navigate with arrow keys and press X) to select multiple posts. You can also shift click to bulk select a range of posts. From there you can click the 3 dots at the top of the feed to take action, or press Cmd+K to take action with your keyboard.

Option menus

In several places around the app, you’ll see three-dot menus which mean you can take some actions. These normally also indicate that you can right click that item to get the same options.

Right clicking

Most things in the app are right-clickable. Try it on any post(s), a cubby, a team, or even favorites in the sidebar!

Keyboard shortcuts

  • Cmd+K (or ctrl on Windows) opens a menu that lets you search for actions & posts. You can navigate this with your arrow keys, and press enter to select an action or search result
  • C opens the new post modal when you’re outside the reader
  • N opens the note panel inside the reader
  • Arrow up / down on the posts feed lets you navigate, and you can press Enter to jump into a post
    • Pressing X as you’re navigating the posts feed will allow you to select posts, and you can then use Cmd+K to take action on them
  • Tab lets you move around the elements of any page with just your keyboard
  • Cmd+Enter is used to submit most things, like sending a note or creating a new cubby

iOS post actions

In our iOS app you can multi-select posts by flicking to the left. Actions will pop up at the bottom and you’ll be able to do everything you can from the desktop app!
